Fourth Elm Construction partnered with River Landing at Sandy Ridge, a premier Continuing Care Retirement Community, to build two separate projects on their campus in Colfax, NC. River Landing at Sandy Ridge is a division of Presbyterian Homes, Inc, a not-for-profit, faith-based organization and a trusted, repeat-client of Fourth Elm Construction. With over 400 living quarters and 300 employees, this up-scale retirement community consistently makes updates and tackles renovations to meet the growing needs of residents and staff.

Fourth Elm’s first project at River Landing is the expansion and renovation of the Administrative Offices, on the second floor of the Augusta building, centrally located in the middle of campus. The project scope features selective demolition and waterproofing of the existing balconies, structural repairs/structural steel additions, and associated office and common area build-out. The project is carefully constructed above the campus’ operating dining room and multifunctional activity room, which has remained open during construction. Fourth Elm Construction has operated a proactive site logistics/safety plan, to manage the construction activities in the occupied campus.

Our second project on the River Landing campus is the expansion to the community’s Maintenance Facility. This pre-engineered metal building addition provides space for the community’s equipment. This project has occurred concurrently with the Administrative Office expansion project.

Fourth Elm Construction is proud to have partnered with the design team of Steele Group Architects, AME Consulting Engineering, Arrowood + Arrowood Structural Engineers, and ID Collaborative.
